The Kitchen- Its utilitarian beauty

Alfred Hitchcock once said: “Happiness is a small house, with a big kitchen.” We totally agree, in fact, our favorite room in the house is the kitchen. It's definitely the heart and soul of our home.

It's where we gather in the morning as a family to start the day, and it's where we wind down at night over supper.

Since we think of the kitchen as the heart we believe that its design and beauty also should evolve with us and our lifestyles. In our Cabinet World USA design center as well as out on the field, we spend a lot of time working with our clients on their kitchen layouts. It is important that the kitchen is well-planned and organized and maximizes all usable space. A good kitchen design must go beyond just looking great should also be focused on the kitchen user lifestyle, functionality, workflow and storage. First step to creating an optimized kitchen layout that is functional and organized, before you select cabinets and countertops would be to answer a couple of questions like: How and how often do you cook? Do you entertain? What other activities take place in your kitchen?

Once you get through these questions yourself is time to get to a cabinet design location and or start with a general contractor.

The designer and the general contractor can walk with you through the answers to the questions above to help you to identify your lifestyle and how you use the space; and can discuss and provide specific design and architectural ideas to suggest a potential better living experience, either by adding space or making better use of an established space

Your kitchen should not only look good but should also increase storage space and improve the workflow. Think about using drawers or deep pull-out shelves in lower cabinets, as these will allow you to see and access desired items quickly and with ease.

And appliances and the look and feel of your space, colors and surfaces that you get in countertops, backsplash, cabinets and walls.

We see it all the time, colors are a true reflection of the way people want to feel inside their homes, based on what is going on around them, and how they want to live right now and into the future.

Any time color is drawn from nature, you can't go wrong. From deep blues that reach from sky to water and every nuance in between is current today. Other hues topping the list of current color trends, contains almost any variation of white. Pure and crisp white to those that fade to gray and khaki are on trend for today.

With our combined design and general contractor capabilities at Cabinet World USA, we want to help with your design and remodeling needs, from cabinets design or installation, ideas on space redesign, cabinet styles, countertop choices to remodeling options or just references for pluming, tiles and flooring.
